Calibration is the stretch of ranked games in which Dota 2 works out where a new or recalibrating account belongs. Since patch 7.33 in April 2023 it is no longer a fixed number of matches: the game tracks rank confidence next to your MMR and considers you calibrated once that confidence passes a threshold. Until then your medal stays hidden or uncertain, and every result pushes the rating further than it will later. A calibration boost puts a professional player in exactly those games.
The medal you receive at the end is one of eight: Herald, Guardian, Crusader, Archon, Legend, Ancient, Divine or Immortal. Herald to Divine each have five stars, while Immortal has no stars and its best players are shown with a leaderboard position instead. Where you land after calibration decides which of these brackets your games start in. Starting two medals higher saves weeks of climbing later.
There are two situations in which players order a calibration boost. The first is a fresh ranked account that has just met the requirements of 100 hours played and a phone number linked to Steam. The second is an optional MMR recalibration, which Valve makes available in the game’s settings and which sends an established account back through calibration. In both cases the order form asks for your previous rank, or Unranked, and for the number of calibration games you want played.
Dota 2 has not forced a seasonal reset on everyone since 2020, when recalibration became optional, so a calibration result is not wiped a few months later. The rating you calibrate at is the rating you keep playing from, which makes those first games unusually important. A poor start can take a long run of wins to repair, while a strong one simply puts you where you should be. That is the whole idea of a calibration boost: get the starting point right.
The rating system gains or removes more MMR per match while rank confidence is low. That is fair when the results reflect your real skill, but calibration games are rarely typical games. Players arrive nervous, try heroes they have not practised or queue late at night to get the matches done. Two or three bad results at this stage cost far more than the same losses would a month later.
Lobbies during calibration are also unusually mixed. Your opponents and teammates may themselves be uncertain accounts, returning players or people recalibrating after a long break. That makes the games hard to read, and a player who is not confident in the draft or the lane can drift from game to game without a plan. The result is a starting medal that does not match what the player can actually do.
Once the account has calibrated low, the system becomes more confident with every game, and each later win moves the rating by less. Climbing back then turns into the familiar grind of trading wins and losses around the same stars. Many players only realise after calibration that a few careful games at the start would have saved them weeks. That is exactly the moment a calibration boost is designed for.
None of this means you are a weak player. Calibration simply amplifies whatever happens in a handful of games, good or bad, and it does not care about bad luck or an off evening. A booster brings consistency to the part of the ladder where consistency counts the most. You keep the benefit afterwards, because every future game starts from a fairer rating.
A booster treats every calibration game as a match that counts double, because in effect it does. They play heroes they have mastered, not experiments, and pick lineups that can take over the map without depending on four strangers. Their laning, last-hitting and item choices are consistent from the first game to the last. The aim is simple: as many convincing wins as possible while the rating is still moving quickly.
Convincing matters as much as winning. A calibrating account benefits from clean games in which the booster controls the tempo, secures objectives and closes the match without throwing a lead. They know when to push a won game and when to stay patient against a comeback. That discipline keeps losses rare in the few games where each one would hurt the most.
The booster also manages the schedule. Calibration games are played in focused sessions at hours when the booster is sharp and the lobbies on your server are healthy, not squeezed into a tired late night. If a session starts badly, they stop and come back later instead of chasing losses. Ask in the order chat at any time and the booster tells you how the games went and how many calibration matches remain.
Everything happens inside the game itself, with game knowledge, map awareness and practised mechanics. The booster also plays with respect for the account, avoiding reports and abandons that would drag the behavior score down. When the order is complete you receive an account whose starting medal reflects strong play rather than a nervous first week. From there you can keep climbing yourself, or order an MMR boost for the next step.
Boosting24 works as a marketplace rather than a shop with a fixed team. You choose your previous rank, the number of calibration games and your server, and verified Dota 2 boosters answer with offers that state their own price and delivery time. You compare them side by side and accept the one you like. No one touches the account before you have made that choice.
Each booster has a public profile with star ratings, written reviews from earlier customers, the ranks they play and the number of orders taken on. You can therefore see who will play your calibration before you pay, which matters for a service where a handful of games decides so much. Some customers go for the lowest offer, others for the booster with the strongest reviews on their server. The choice is always yours.
During the order you talk to the booster in the built-in chat, agree on the hours when the games are played and follow the order’s progress on the order page. Whenever you ask, the booster reports the result of each calibration game and how many are left. If you need help, our support team is online around the clock and can step in at any point. You never have to guess what is happening on your account.
You pay through the platform, never by private transfer to the booster. If the agreed games cannot be delivered, the money-back guarantee protects you and support resolves the case with both sides. Because boosters compete for each order, prices stay fair without an inflated calculator rate. It is a simple, transparent way to buy a handful of very important games.
Every calibration game is won with the booster’s own skill. No cheats, scripts, macros or third-party programs are ever used, and Valve Anti-Cheat keeps running exactly as it does when you play yourself. The matches are ordinary ranked games that appear in your match history like any other. That rule is not negotiable for any booster on the platform.
For Solo orders the booster connects through a VPN matched to your region, so the account is not suddenly logged in from another continent. Your login goes through the secure order form, visible only to the booster you chose, and never through public chat or email. When Steam Guard asks for a code, you send it in the order chat and stay in control of every login. Once the calibration is finished, change your password.
The booster also protects the parts of the account that matter after the order. They do not use your items, keep the chat calm and never abandon a game, so your behavior score stays where it was. The behavior score shapes who you are matched with, and Valve has banned accounts whose score fell extremely low. A clean calibration is one that leaves nothing behind but a better medal.
We will not pretend there is no risk at all. Steam rules do not allow account sharing, so any service promising zero risk is not being honest with you. What we do is keep the risk low with careful play, regional VPNs and strict rules for boosters. If you would rather not share the account, choose Duo and play every calibration game yourself in a party with the booster.
In Solo calibration the booster logs into your account and plays the calibration games for you. It is the quickest route to a strong result, because the booster plays in their best hours and does not have to wait for you. You follow the progress on the order page and can pause the order through the chat if you need the account. Players who mainly want the highest possible starting medal usually pick Solo.
In Duo calibration your login stays private and you play every game yourself in a party with the booster. The booster takes a core role and sets the pace, while you gain rating on your own account and see how a high-MMR player approaches these decisive matches. It takes longer, because both of you must be online together. In exchange there is no account sharing at all and you learn from every game.
To prepare the order, choose your previous rank, or Unranked for a fresh account, and the number of calibration games you want played; the form accepts between one and thirty. If you are recalibrating and have already played some games, order only the ones that remain. Add your server and behavior score, since both affect the matchmaking pool and the offers you receive. Hero or role wishes can go into the order notes or the chat.
Before paying, make sure the account can actually enter ranked: 100 hours played, a phone number linked to Steam and no active matchmaking restriction. For Solo orders, be ready to pass Steam Guard codes while the games are played. With that in place, offers usually come in quickly and the first calibration games can start soon after you accept one. Afterwards you can keep climbing yourself or continue with an MMR boost.
