Clash of Clans Hero Leveling - Every Hero, Up to Its Cap

The Home Village has six heroes. The Barbarian King and the Archer Queen are the oldest and go up to level 105. The Minion Prince goes to 95, the Grand Warden to 80, the Royal Champion to 55 and the Dragon Duke, the newest, to 25.

Each level makes the hero tougher and its ability stronger, which is why hero levels are one of the first things clanmates look at before a war. A maxed King and Queen carry attacks that the same army could not finish with lower heroes.

An order covers one hero and one range of levels. The level picker runs from 1 to 105 for every hero, so set a target that fits the hero you chose: a Dragon Duke order ends at 25 at most, a Grand Warden order at 80.

Heroes are upgraded in the Hero Hall, and each Hero Hall level sets the highest level every hero can reach. The Hero Hall itself can only go as high as your Town Hall allows, so a hero’s real ceiling today depends on both buildings.

Open the hero’s upgrade screen before you post. If the next level is greyed out, the Hero Hall needs an upgrade first, and an order with a target above the current cap will stall until it gets one.

You can ask the booster to upgrade the Hero Hall as part of the plan. Say so in the chat before you accept an offer, because the Hero Hall takes a builder and resources too, and the booster has to fit it in.

Hero upgrades cost Dark Elixir or Elixir depending on the hero, and the cost rises with every level. Your booster gathers it by playing: Battles, Ranked Battles loot, the Star Bonus, Clan Games and events. What is already in your storages goes first.

Every upgrade also needs a free builder and runs on a timer, and a hero being upgraded cannot fight until it ends. Tell your booster when your clan’s wars and Clan War League rounds are, so the longest timers start right after your war attacks and your heroes are back for the next one.

Gems, books, hammers and other magic items can finish upgrades sooner, but they are yours. Your booster uses none of them unless you say so in the chat, and you can change that decision at any point of the order.

If war stars matter most to you, many strategies lean on the Archer Queen and the Grand Warden, so those two are a common first pick. In Ranked Battles you get a set number of attacks each week, so the best plan keeps your strongest heroes available during the week and fits upgrades in between. Hero Equipment is upgraded separately, with ores in the Blacksmith, and goes through a custom request.
